Leadership Lab
In the Leadership Lab, students work within each of the four modalities to develop skills around leadership, community involvement and post-secondary planning.
By participating in The Leadership Lab, students…
- Develop transition skills for independent living.
- Explore and prepare for post-secondary options.
- Visit local colleges and trade schools.
- Positively connect with the resources in the broader St. Paul community.
- Serve their school communities by mentoring younger students.
- Act as a youth advisory committee for future Lab planning.
Examples of Achievements
- Work with a mentor to set and achieve goals related to post-secondary planning
- Collaborate on a community service project
- Participate in experiential activities such as cooking, sewing and other transition skills
- High school students mentor junior high school students on academics
- Students develop public speaking skills through performing their poetry and written work
