Leadership Lab

In the Leadership Lab, students work within each of the four modalities to develop skills around leadership, community involvement and post-secondary planning.

By participating in The Leadership Lab, students…

  • Develop transition skills for independent living.
  • Explore and prepare for post-secondary options.
  • Visit local colleges and trade schools.
  • Positively connect with the resources in the broader St. Paul community.
  • Serve their school communities by mentoring younger students.
  • Act as a youth advisory committee for future Lab planning.

Examples of Achievements

  • Work with a mentor to set and achieve goals related to post-secondary planning
  • Collaborate on a community service project
  • Participate in experiential activities such as cooking, sewing and other transition skills
  • High school students mentor junior high school students on academics
  • Students develop public speaking skills through performing their poetry and written work
