A Poem by Josh

What Matters, by Josh
What matters to me is to be successful
Less stressful, To be determined, to unleash the emotion without fear
Because if I do, rage is the next stage and I’m not trying to let that out of the cage
So I think uncertain thoughts, Pondering around in my mind
Trying to examine what’s the next line
How controlling it will be
My thoughts, and the inner me.

A large fight among spectators broke out at a high school boys basketball tournament in St. Paul over the weekend, requiring about 20 officers to break it up and resulting in an 18-year-old’s arrest on suspicion of possessing a gun… Read more

My Experience with The Lab

(posted by B.1)
From September 11, 2008 until 2day, my experience with The Lab has been wonderful. My work with every one, including Glo (our mentor in the recording studio) has been great. He’s a great lyricist. D is a great rapper, N is a great collaborator.
Learning how to use Garageband has been cool. My plan for my project is to be done by January 1, 2009. I’m making a 12-track compilation CD, produced by Glo and B.1. Special thanks to Mary T. and Kristen, and thanks to God, because with out them, B.1 wouldn’t be heard.
Peace. One love.

The Lab is cool. I can see myself here all the time, and my man Glo is a beast!
B.1 should be a pastor, and the Lab staff are awesome. If U have a talent, bring it to The Lab and I’m sure you’ll shine!

Student Mentoring Notes

As the youngest mentor at The Lab, my obligation is to help youth cope with anything, any problem that life can bring; and being a lover of music, the youth can feel me.
I was also a co-builder. I helped Kristen (Lab staff) build the recording studio and the good thing with it is, I get to record an album that will release January of 09.
This is my last year of high school but hopefully not with The Lab. If I love it, YOU will too. I even have mentors, that is cooler than fans.
Glo and Kristen. Kris does everything in The Lab, everything the from the visual, to poetry and tech. Glo work with the junior high kids mostly in the studio. He is a great recording artist.
Not bad for my first blog! There will be more to come, go to the poetry high school students recorded last year, I’m on there. Check it here.
Can’t forget about D., watch out for his blog.

The thing I like about the Lab is that every body can write what’s on their mind.
The Lab staff will hear what you got to say, and that’s really nice if you ask me…….!!!

THE LAB
Is a fun and friendly place and where we come to record our poems.
THE LAB
Is like a home where you should never feel alone and everyone should get along.
THE LAB
Is a place where we all are the same and should never be affraid to speak our minds all the time.
THE LAB
You should be free of all your problems and if your not we are here to lend an ear because this is what the Lab is all about.
