cool, strong, healthy,
follows the rules,
sometimes I lose my cool
and act like a fool
sometimes even drool.
I try to stay in school.
I thank god that I’m on this earth
and my mom for giving birth
and putting me on this earth
this is me.

ShoshanaMy work with “The Lab” has evolved greatly with shifts, stalls, and movement that I could not have anticipated. I went from questioning my capacity to do this work, a stage they call “reality confrontation” in social work jargon, to feeling in my “comfort zone” and often excited for my next day with the kids. As Program Assistant, one of my duties is overseeing the recruitment, training and introduction of new volunteers and interns into the program.
