Yah, its your boi, KB!
The thing I like about the Lab is that every body can write what’s on their mind.
The Lab staff will hear what you got to say, and that’s really nice if you ask me…….!!!
n’ yah! I give a high five to all my Lab workers n’ keep writing….

THE LAB
Is a fun and friendly place and where we come to record our poems.

THE LAB
Is like a home where you should never feel alone and everyone should get along.

THE LAB
Is a place where we all are the same and should never be affraid to speak our minds all the time.

THE LAB
You should be free of all your problems and if your not we are here to lend an ear because this is what the Lab is all about.

If I had the chance
I’d delete the negativity in my life
despite this, I might have let the devil get too close
so close he wanted my life

But I wanted to keep my soul

Why?
Because I know things ain’t
what they claim to be,
preachers lyin’ to people
for the love of money
my life ain’t pretty, sunny, or funny

If I had the chance
I’d never do the same thing again
Drinking vodka and gin
got the devil thinking we were best friends.

Education is a light
It can guide the youth
through their life

It can help you get a business
It can help you get a job
If you use it to your advantage
you won’t live like a slob

You can either join a gang
or stay neutral and get called names, like lame
but if you think about it, it’s all the same
Even if you’re in a gang,
some of your lil’ people are still lame

But in the end,
education is a light
so it’s your choice
to fight for it,
or just leave it all behind.

Every Wednesday I come to this room in a school.
Going into it, I didn’t understand just how cool…and how REAL
the people in the circle would be.
They all respectin’ each other
-this respect is plain to see.
You can also seethe power,
the beauty,
the positive energy…the props,
the shout-outs,
now, are you feelin’ me?
And I almost forgot about the poetry…
Just like the people,
their words are real
beyond belief.

This student from Como Sr. High worked with a Lab Art Mentor to create this beautiful picture.
The student turned this piece into a greeting card.como_student_art.jpg
